Metal Phase

Metal is the autumn of the cycle: the gathering inward, the condensation, the air growing clear. The 24 Breaths cross it from Liqiu (立秋) to the white dews of Bailu (白露). The tradition attaches to it the upper sphere, white and the pungent flavour: the luminous descent towards winter.
